What conditions can be treated?
- redness and flushing
- irregular pigmentation, age spots, freckling
- reduces pore size
- rosacea
- small facial veins
- roughness and fine wrinkles
How many treatments
are needed?
A series of 5 treatments is needed to
obtain the best results. Some patients may benefit from more treatments
depending on the severity of the condition treated. Treatments are spaced
3-4 weeks apart.
What are treatments
like?
Each Fotofacial treatment takes about 15-30 minutes. Most patients tolerate
the non-invasive procedure very well. Those with more sensitive skin may
use a topical anesthetic, applied 30 minutes before the procedure. Most
normal activities can be resumed immediately and make-up can be applied
right after a treatment session. At first, the skin may be flushed and appear
agitated. Brown spots will actually be slightly darker at first. These initial
effects fade in 24 hours, and then you will begin to see the beneficial
results! Keep in mind that the more pigment or sun damage in your skin that
you have may cause you to have more irritation after the procedure.
What are the expected results of FotoFacial treatments?
Following FotoFacial treatments there is a gradual decrease in overall redness, flushing and acne-like breakouts. Treated skin will become smoother with a reduction in fine wrinkles
and pore size as well as a fading of sun spots or uneven pigmentation.
In time, the result of FotoFacial treatments is smoother, healthier,
younger-appearing skin.
Are FotoFacial
treatments safe?
FotoFacial treatments, being completely
non-invasive, are very safe. Very rarely, temporary mild bruising or
blistering may occur in the treated areas, which will resolve in a few
days time.
