Excessive sweating (also known as Hyperhidrosis) is a problem that plagues many men and women especially in hot areas like Arizona. Hyperhidrosis(sweating) can occur anywhere on the body but is most often encountered on the hands, feet or underarms(axillae). Dr. Hall has performed BOTOX® Cosmetic injections for hyperhidrosis in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona for the past 4 years. If injected in the hands, feet or under the arms, it can often reduce sweating completely for a period of many months. People usually request re-injecting 6 - 9 months later, even though only some of the sweating has returned.

Sweat is one of the ways our body regulates temperature. People with hyperhidrosis sweat much more than the body needs to stay cool. And hyperhidrosis is not easily controlled by anti-perspirant. If you are bothered by excessive perspiration BOTOX® may be the solution for you.

Severe underarm sweating, hyperhidrosis, is a medical condition that involves hyperactive sweat glands. Only a medical professional can diagnose the condition. When you consult with Dr. Hall, share your medical history, family history, and when you first noticed your severe underarm sweating. Once a diagnosis has been made, Dr. Hall will discuss the appropriate treatment options with you.

BOTOX® has been shown to be very effective for controlling hyperhidrosis. Most patients can expect a significant reduction in sweating for a full 6 months when treated with BOTOX®.

BOTOX® works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. It is not a cure and you should expect your symptoms to return gradually. When your excessive sweating returns you will know it is time for another treatment. Dr. Hall will recommend a treatment strategy to ensure that you receive the best possible results with BOTOX® treatment.
